The Firm is pleased to announce that Scott J. Lee, Esq. has joined the Firm as “Of Counsel”. Mr. Lee’s office is located in Wellington, Florida, providing Cohen, Norris, et. al. supplementing the Firm’s strong presence in this region of Palm Beach County. Mr. Lee is one of very few attorneys who are both a Florida Bar Board Certified Condominium and Planned Development Law Attorney and a Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate Law Attorney. Mr. Lee will be heading the Firm’s community association practice, representing homeowners associations, condominium associations, co-ops, and individual owners as well. Mr. Lee’s extensive practice representing homeowners associations, condominium associations, and co-ops involves all areas of a community’s operations, including i) amending, preserving and revitalizing governing documents; ii) covenant enforcement; iii) fining procedures; iv) aggressive collection of delinquent assessments; v) review of vendor contracts; vi) mortgage foreclosure and tax deed surplus matters; viii) terminations of condominium; viii) “material alterations” and special assessment matters and ix) regularly drafts special meeting notices, limited proxies, and oversees election procedures. Mr. Lee frequently attends meetings of the Board of Directors, annual meetings, and is approved by the Department of Business and Regulation to provide Board Member Certification Courses and Property Manager CLE classes. He interfaces daily with the board members and property managers for those communities he represents. Mr. Lee has been appointed the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Community Association Continuing Legal Education Chairperson providing lectures to other attorneys on community association legal issues. Mr. Lee also was nominated for the prestigious 2020 Justice Anstead Award for Florida Bar Board Certified Attorney of the Year. Mr. Lee also represents individual owners on a select basis involving disputes with their community association.
