Fred C. Cohen

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Education: B.A., UCLA, 1965; J.D., University of Kentucky School of Law, 1968; admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 1968, the State of Florida, 1973; U.S. District Court for Western District of Pennsylvania; U.S. District Court for Southern District of Florida; area of concentration include banking and real property law; corporate and business law; professional affiliations are the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, real property and business law sections of the Florida Bar.

Mr. Cohen’s early career experiences include one year with the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County handling acquisitions and disposition of real property as well as eminent domain actions; two years with a private law firm in Pittsburgh; three years as in house counsel for Stanley J. Harte, a Palm Beach real estate developer; and six years as a shareholder of the Palm Beach County firm of DeSantis, Cook, Meehan and Cohen, P.A.

Mr. Cohen has been rated an AV attorney, the highest rating possible, from Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Cohen was named a 2004 Florida Legal Elite attorney by Florida Trend magazine.

Since moving to Florida in 1972, Mr. Cohen has primarily represented clients in banking, business, real estate transactions, corporate and partnership matters, and real estate brokerage matters. He has also represented numerous developers and has appeared on their behalf before zoning and other governmental agencies in connection with the development of all types of real estate.
